Life Imitates Art
The SATB show Life Imitates Art tells the story of two artists who set out to live a life creating great art (Whatever I Want It To Be). Excited to be discovered and achieve fame, they set out to make their mark on the world (So Bad). But along the way, they encounter the obstacles that can block every creative endeavor—rejection, self-doubt, and failure (Wolves). As reality refuses to follow the storybook script, the artist is forced to confront what truly gives life meaning (Once Upon A Time). Through struggle, resilience, and self-discovery, they learn that fulfillment is found by overcoming these obstacles (Still Breathing). Life Imitates Art is a celebration of finding inspiration in everyday life and discovering that the greatest masterpiece is not a future achievement, but a life fully lived (Tomorrow Is A Blank Page). Musical genres featured in the show include a classic Broadway opener and "I Wish" second song, a heavy rock change-of-pace, a pop ballad, an alt-rock transition, and a dance-pop closer. The first two numbers feature a treble and bass solo paired together which could be used to introduce two featured artist characters, or divide the solos evenly among choir members throughout the show for a less character-driven approach.
